‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Worldwide Boxoffice Collections – ₹500 Crore Opening Weekend


Kalki 2898 AD has been shattering a lot of the previously written records from the day it hit the big screen. And now, it has managed to attain another icing on the cake in the weekend. The film managed to gain some big numbers in the range of ₹100 Cr (India alone), the previous day. And now the four-day extended weekend Domestic total gross comes at around ₹335 Cr. This puts Kalki 2898 AD as the fifth Highest Opening weekend at the India Box-Office. In total, the Prabhas starrer is estimated to have gained nearly ₹500 Cr globally.

While the film’s growth was slightly fazed on Saturday because of the T20 World Cup final match between India and South Africa, it got compensated in high regards on the day after. North India collections are to be specifically noted. The film made huge collections in the multiplex and the Sunday growth is incredible, which is nearly 80% from Day 1. The total gross from Hindi markets is around ₹123 Cr, finding third spot for the opening weekend among South Indian films only behind Baahubali. Telugu states also witnessed 20% growth from Saturday. The film now holds the fourth spot in terms of highest four-day weekend collections in Telugu states.

In Kerala, the film saw an incredible growth on Sunday, around 30% from Saturday. The film also became the 6th highest opening weekend for any movie at Kerala Box Office for the year 2024. An incredible achievement which gives all the possibility for the film to become the second highest grossing Telugu film at Kerala Box-Office behind Baahubali 2. The film grossed ₹12.75 Cr in the 4 Day opening weekend at Kerala which is also the second highest opening weekend for a Telugu movie. Tamil Nadu also saw the best day on Sunday taking the tally above ₹20 Cr while Karnataka made a fabulous ₹32 Cr weekend total.

Kalki 2898 AD debuts at No 3 at the global Box-office in its opening weekend. This is a huge achievement and the film made above $17M at the international markets. The North American market, particularly USA contributed 50% of its earnings. The film is only behind Bahubali 2 at the North America Box-office for the opening weekend and only the second Indian movie to have a $10 Million plus opening weekend. The film also made a splendid start in the Gulf circuits. Despite a low opening, the film just climbed on to the second spot behind Baahubali 2 for the opening weekend collections. The film finally earns $2.55M in the territory.

In UK & Ireland, the film has created history by becoming the first Telugu movie to do $1 Million plus business in the opening weekend. The film also secures the 2nd spot overall in the territory for the opening weekend, only behind Leo. The film also made a sensational $1 Million plus at the Australian Box-Office for the opening weekend, third Telugu film behind Baahubali 2 & RRR. The Prabhas starrer also collected $500K plus in the opening weekend in Europe.
