‘Thalapathy Vijay’ starrer ‘The Greatest of All Time’ pre-sales hit INR 65 Crore..!!!!
The Greatest of All Time has performed well despite receiving mixed opinions from the promotional materials. The film has taken a gigantic start in the stronger areas of Thalapathy Vijay, living up to the craze of the star actor. His immense stardom is visible in the home market as well as in some of the overseas markets too.
Domestic Circuits
In Tamil Nadu, the film has grossed over ₹18.50 Cr in advance sales for Day 1, which is the second highest for a movie after the Industry Hit Leo. Top 3 movies with highest presales now belong to Thalapathy Vijay according to renowned trackers ‘Cinetrak’. The film has registered an occupancy close to a staggering 83% in the home state and sells over 9.5 Lakh tickets from 3200 shows. Karnataka has also produced an excellent figure as advance sales, with over ₹6.50 Cr. The film also registered around 1.75 lakh admits from 1480 shows.
The film has done decent business in the Telugu states by grossing over ₹2.00 Cr from 1300 shows while the North India regions managed to secure just over ₹0.50 Cr from 1200 shows. The film couldn’t bag any shows in the major multiplex chains in this territory due to not adhering to an 8-week OTT window. In the state of Kerala, the film couldn’t perform to its expectations as the final pre-sales figures are in the range of ₹3.90 Cr from 2200 shows. The Venkat Prabhu directorial has managed to secure around 2.40 Lakh admits from around 300 screens.

International Circuits
Thalapathy Vijay starrer has managed to earn around $1.20M from the North American Box-Office in advance sales including the premieres. The reported numbers are around $800K & $400K from USA & Canada respectively. The UK territory has been rather disappointing for the film as it has managed to earn only around $200K while Europe added another $400K. Even the situation is similar in Australia & New Zealand where the combined total is in the range of $210K. The Pre-sales in Australia is less than some of the previous movies of Thalapathy Vijay.
The film is trending exceedingly well in all the Asian territories. The Middle East market saw a huge jump prior to the release day by registering over $730K and has sold over 55K tickets in advance sales. This is sensational considering the advance sale of recent releases:
- Leo – $1.73M
- GOAT – $0.73M
- Jawan – $0.60M
- Jailer – $0.58M
Malaysia & Singapore saw a whooping total of $390K & $300K respectively while the former saw a total sale of 80K tickets for Day 1. Sri Lanka is the top most market where the film has overperformed even Leo. The film has grossed over $170K and sells over 25K tickets in advance sales. The final gross of Leo was around LKR 4.71 Cr while GOAT has done business of around LKR 4.76 Cr in just presales alone.
Overall, the film has managed to gross around ₹64 Cr globally in pre-sales where the domestic total is around ₹31.4 Cr and the overseas territories contributed around $37.60M. Certain areas have performed really well in comparison to other areas and GOAT had an even wider release than Leo in major areas. It needs to be seen how far the film can go in terms of the Day 1 collections. The film is all set to become the second ₹100 Cr opening day for Thalapathy Vijay globally if everything goes well.
