RDX 10 Days Kerala Box Office Gross

Sophia Paul has brought yet another jewel to Malayalam Cine Industry in the form of RDX. This Nahas Hidayath directorial has come out as the dark horse in this Onam season. RDX opened to extremely positive reviews and the audience are ensuring that the film is a blockbuster success. The film has completed 10 Days of phenomenal run at the Kerala Boxoffice. The movie has been performing consistently on each day and has reaped the benefits from Onam Holidays, reporting huge footfalls. Looking at the Boxoffice collections, the much awaited Onam clash is won by RDX hands down and is way ahead of its competitors.

The presales figures were a meagre INR 14 Lakh but the first day collections have surprised the industry. The film reported a huge INR 1.30 Crore on Day 1. From then on, there was no looking back for the movie. From the third day onwards , RDX had 8 consecutive INR 3 Crore plus days at the Kerala Boxoffice. The movie reported steady collections in the first week. Traditionally, ‘Avittam’ & ‘Chathayam’ days used to record huge numbers since they mark the last 2 days of Onam. RDX recorded INR 4 Crore gross on both days which happened to be the 6th and 7th day of the movie. As per the early estimates, the second Sunday (10the day) also clocked INR 4 Crore setting a strong finish to the holiday season.

In 10 days, RDX has collected around INR 33.4 Crore from Kerala Box office. This is a monumental figure considering the fact that the film had to clash with 2 A-lister movies. The power of positive word of mouth has been the driving force behind the success of RDX. This is evident while comparing the first weekend and second weekend. When the first weekend recorded INR 13.8 Crore, second weekend is estimated to be around INR 22.2 Crore. There was a 61% growth over the second weekend. The real test of the movie was on its Second Friday and RDX passed with flying colors. When every other Onam releases saw a huge drop of around 50% after ‘Chathyam’, RDX recorded only a slight drop of around 10% which guaranteed a strong second weekend.

Though RDX had a sensational start at Kerala Boxoffice, the movie hasn’t performed well outside Kerala initially. Rest of India total was just a little over INR 90 lakh in 7 days while the second weekend made sure that the total collections stay at INR 2.05 Crore in 10 days. The situation in the Overseas markets was similar to Rest of India markets for the reason that the film didn’t enjoy a wide release outside Kerala in the first week. IN 7 days, RDX registered a total of USD 1.4 Million where a large contribution is coming from the Gulf Markets. It is worth noting that the Gulf territories have registered an excellent first week, grossing over USD 1.34 Million leaving behind King of Kotha. The final 10 days global total stands at a massive USD 2.72 Million after increasing total shows worldwide.

The territory-wise breakdown for RDX is as follows:

India Total ~ INR 35.45 Cr

Overseas Total USD 2.72 M (INR 22.5 Cr)
