‘Pushpa 2’ creates new record; first film to post INR 250 Crore Opening Day…!!!!
Pushpa 2 has truly lived up to the most anticipated movie of the year tag and obliterated several records on its Opening day. Allu Arjun has flexed his muscles to collects over ₹185 Cr in India while the international market sees roughly $8M. The reported numbers are unprecedented as the film has significantly benefitted from the Pan-India stature. The movie has earned ₹50 Cr from two key domestic markets and also created Opening Day records for other-language movies in the states of Kerala & Tamil Nadu. The film has definitely performed like a ‘True Blue Pan India film’ and has set a benchmark on its Opening Day, which’ll be really difficult for future Indian films to achieve.
Domestic Circuits
In the home state of AP/TS, Pushpa 2 is the highest Opening day grosser of the year and has collected over ₹70 Cr from both the states. Allu Arjun starrer now holds the second highest Opening Day record after RRR and reported over 12 Lakh admits in the region. Like in the home state, Pushpa 2 was expected to make huge inroads in the Hindi heartlands. The film created the highest opening day record by going past Jawan in the area. Allu Arjun starrer becomes the first film to make ₹70 Cr on the Opening Day in North India. International Circuits
Pushpa 2 creates havoc on its Opening Day at the overseas markets. The film is already the highest Telugu Opening grosser of 2024 in all the areas except North America where Kalki 2898 AD regains the top position in the All-Time list of Highest Opening Day Indian movies.
In the North America Box-office, Pushpa 2 takes the fourth best opening and the second highest of 2024. The advance booking of the Allu Arjun starrer was reportedly less compared to other Telugu biggies. The film collected nearly $4.50M on Day 1 from 1027 locations including the Premieres, where the Premieres reported $3.34M. The Telugu & Hindi version earned $3.85M & $560K respectively.
