Neru Trailer Analysis

After a streak of flops, Mohanlal is back in Mollywood with Neru. The trailer of Neru was released at 5 PM and the fans were eagerly waiting to see their favourite actor on big screen. This film brings back the hit combo Mohanlal & Jeethu Joseph together and is touted to be a courtroom drama. Neru will release on Dec 21st, 2023 and stars Priyamani & Anaswara Rajan as the female leads.

Mohanlal plays Advocate Vijay Mohan who has been out of legal practice for so many years. He is appearing as a Special Public Prosecutor and representing the character played by Anaswara Rajan. He sounded like a lawyer who is low in confidence and timid to appear for a trial.

He seems to be troubled by a dark past that might have affected him both personally and professionally. The character is being downplayed throughout the trailer and in all probability, Neru will witness the resilience and redemption of Vijay Mohan. It is evident from the trailer that his case is gaining sensation and the stakes will be too high towards the final portions.

The synopsis of Neru tells that the film unfolds the tale of Sara who is a blind sculpture. After going through an agonizing experience, she seeks justice. A gripping legal and emotional drama that takes the viewers on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, deceit and redemption.

Mohanlal last played an advocate’s role in 2010 movie Janakan and his character name was Advocate Suryanarayanan. Neru will also see Jagadish, Siddique, Ganesh Kumar, Nandu & Shanti Mayadevi in prominent roles. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirwad Cinemas and coproduced by Hars Film Company.

Jeethu Joseph brings his same team of technicians from Drishyam & Kooman for Neru. The movie is written by Santhi Mayadevi who played the role of an advocate in Drishyam 2. The movie was filmed entirely in Trivandrum and Mohanlal wrapped up his portions in a single schedule.

Mohanlal last appeared in the blockbuster Tamil film, Jailer alongside Superstar Rajnikanth. The cameo of Mohanlal was well received among the audience and his uber cool casual attire was an instant hit. It needs to be seen how Neru will perform in this Christmas season alongside Dunki & Salaar.
