‘Lokah’ tops ₹66 Crore in 4-Days at the Worldwide Box-office; third biggest Mollywood Opening Weekend…!!!!
Lokah is shattering records along the way. The film took off right after the first show reviews and there is no stopping this superstorm, estimated to have collected over ₹65 Cr globally. The film registered 2 successive ₹20 Cr days on Saturday & Sunday which means this Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer has written some unique records in Malayalam Industry. She becomes the first actress to achieve such a feat, which is done only by another male lead actor, Mohanlal. The film is leading by a huge margin in all territories against other Onam releases and the advance bookings are showing strong signs of a true PAN Blue blockbuster from Malayalam Cinema.
Domestic Circuits
In Kerala, Lokah has claimed a huge lead over other Malayalam releases from Day 2. The film played at an incredible occupancy in almost all centers in the state. It seemed like Kerala theatres are almost finding it difficult to chart shows to match the exceptional demand for the film. Looking at the weekend collections, it is evident that the film is yet to show its true potential and this Dominic Arun directorial is poised to run riot across the state during this Onam holiday season. The 4-day total stands above ₹16 Cr at Kerala Box-office, which is exceptional during a clash release.
Lokah is performing well in the Rest of India markets where the film actually set off from Day 3. Naslen starrer is getting good initial audience reception and coming days will determine the box-office performance of the film. As of now, other language versions are also driving collections outside Kerala which is a positive factor. Thanks to the popularity of Dulquer Salmaan, the film is making good returns in the Telugu states. In AP/TS, Lokah has so far earned over ₹3 Cr in all versions combined, most of the collections coming on Saturday & Sunday.
Lokah has also collected above ₹3 Cr in both the states of Karnataka & Tamil Nadu, where the Tamil version is also finding footing in TN. The film indicated good growth over the weekends after the positive word of mouth and could possibly enjoy a good run in both the states. Madharaasi is hitting the theatres this week which might not be a threat since Lokah steadily building collections in these regions with a niche release.
