‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Worldwide Boxoffice Collections – ₹650 Crore plus Opening Week

Kalki 2898 AD has earned well over $20M in the overseas while the domestic total has gone beyond ₹650 Cr. has been shattering a lot of the previously written records from the day it hit the big screen. The weekdays saw significant drop in several areas, but this was expected in some of these territories. The film is performing very well in North America. The Prabhas starrer still has a long way to go to achieve the prestigious ₹1,000 Cr globally. The second week needs to hold at least 40% of the first week total to make this feat happen. Let us take a look at the detailed report of 8-Day Box-Office collections.

Domestic

Kalki 2898 AD added another ₹50 Cr in the weekdays to take the cumulative first week total to roughly ₹200 Cr in AP/TG. The home state witnessed a steep fall in the weekdays, especially in the interiors. The film needs a big jump in the second weekend to build a healthy total in the domestic market. North India collections have also dropped on Monday though the collections are steady through the weekdays. But this was expected and the film have definitely performed better than the home state, especially in the cities and multiplexes. The film added another ₹60 Cr to take the cumulative total over ₹180 Cr. The Prabhas starrer is all set to emerge as the highest grosser of 2024 going over Fighter in the Hindi heartland.

**First Week Kerala Tracking Data – WTF Tracking**

In Kerala, the film is steady in the weekdays, taking the cumulative total to well above ₹18 Cr in 8 days. The film has now beaten the previous best of Prabhas, which was Salaar that ended well below ₹17 Cr. Now the film is well poised to take the second spot for any Telugu film by going past RRR. Also, the film hasn’t seen significant growth in Karnataka & Tamil Nadu during the weekdays. Kalki 2898 AD is all poised to see the ₹50 Cr mark in Karnataka while TN gross might end up as the second best of Prabhas.

Overseas

Kalki 2898 AD soars over $20M at the Overseas markets in 8 days and is well poised to become the 3^rd highest South Indian film in the market. It needs to add another $5M to achieve this feat, though a long way to go. The second weekend will be crucial for the film.

The North American market is doing extra ordinary business for the movie as the 8-Day extended week collections are well over $14 Million. The US market has contributed around $11.77 Million, Thursday being a holiday in USA have further strengthened its chances to become the 3^rd highest grosser behind Baahubali 2 & Pathaan in the North America Box-office by the second weekend. The film also surpassed KGF 2 to become the highest grossing South Indian Movie in Canada. Prabhas starrer became the first Telugu movie to break the $2 Million barrier in Canada, and has now earned over $2.49 Million to go past the tally of $2.38 Million by KGF 2.

The film has gone past $3 Million in the Gulf circuits. Despite having a strong opening weekend, which was only below Baahubali 2 for a Telugu movie, the Nag Ashwin directorial hasn’t shown exceptional growth over the weekdays in this area. The film now occupies the third spot for a Telugu movie behind Baahubali 2 & RRR, each of which collected $10.31 Million & $4.72 Million respectively. The film has comfortably sailed past the £1 Million mark at the UK Box Office alone, only the second Telugu movie to do so behind Baahubali 2. Now the UK collections of Kalki 2898 AD stand at £1.05 Million which is above the final figures of RRR in the UK & Ireland Box Office, which was around £1.03 Million. Importantly, the opening week collections of the Prabhas starrer in Australia and New Zealand is All Time No 3 & No 4 respectively for a Telugu film.
