‘Coolie’ piles up ₹500 Crore Worldwide Total; third for Rajinikanth..!!!!


Coolie mints ₹500 Cr at the Worldwide Box-office and becomes the fourth highest grossing Tamil movie globally. The Rajinikanth starrer is only the 4th Tamil film to collect over ₹500 Cr globally after 2.0, Jailer & Leo. Similarly, the Lokesh directorial earned above $20M in the Overseas territory. Rajinikanth, now has three films that has grossed above ₹500 Cr Worldwide, ₹300 Cr from the domestic circuits and $20M from the international markets. This is a terrific record for the actor and he is set to extend the milestone with Jailer 2.


Domestic Circuits

After an impressive first weekend, Coolie managed to add only another ₹40 Cr plus in the home state of Tamil Nadu, ending its run far below expectations. The film fell short of ₹150 Cr in the home state to become the second highest grosser of the year in the state behind Good Bad Ugly. AP/TS is the second-best performing territory for Coolie after the TN, where the Rajinikanth starrer weathered the clash with War 2. Despite grossing above ₹65 Cr, the film is considered a theatrical flop due to highly valued rights.

In the Rest of India market, Coolie reported ₹37 Cr nett from Hindi versions, which is the second biggest Tamil film grosser after 2.0. The Rajinikanth starrer ended up just above ₹40 Cr in Karnataka, which is the 3rd highest Tamil film in the state after Jailer & 2.0.

Coolie crashed at the Kerala Box-office after a huge Opening weekend. The film made around ₹25 Cr to become the 8th highest other language movie in the state. The Rajinikanth starrer barely made it to the 2nd week, after which the Onam releases sealed the fate of the film.

International Circuits

Coolie ends up as the 5th highest grossing Tamil movie in the Overseas circuits and only the fifth Tamil movie to earn above $20M in the International Box-office. The Top 5 Tamil Films are as follows:

In North America, Coolie couldn’t surpass Jailer despite registering the biggest opening by miles in the territory. The Rajinikanth starrer fell short of $7M mark in the final run. The Top 5 Tamil Films are as follows:

In GCC, Coolie underperformed after carrying immense expectations and could only manage to find the 4th spot in the list of highest grossing Tamil movies in the area. Among all Indian releases of 2025, the Rajinikanth starrer holds the 5th position in the Gulf territories as of now. The Top 5 Tamil films are as follows:

Coolie recorded minor gains at the UK/Ireland Box-office after the second weekend. In the final run, the Rajinikanth starrer earned just above £1.10M in the area, remaining in the 4th spot. The Top 5 Tamil movies are as follows:

In the Australia Box-office, Coolie fell slightly short of Leo to take the 4th spot. The film couldn’t generate footfalls from the second week and ended up collecting nearly A$1.45M in the area. The Top 5 Tamil movies are as follows:
