Chiththa Movie Review
What happens when the very essence of unconditional love is questioned or marred by a tragedy.? How will such a mishap impact a person for the rest of his life.? Chiththa is a movie that makes audience ponder over countless questions. It takes the viewers for an emotional ride and gives wider perspective on various issues that happen amongst us.

Chiththa follows the life of a young man and his niece. They share a very beautiful bonding where the protagonist is someone who is expressive and is so attached to kids. The protagonist Eesha always makes sure that his niece is always under his radar and takes care of her at every step. And so is the niece who trusts her chithappa more than anything in this world. The movie switches between many subplots in the first half taking the audience through the life of Eesha.
The story telling demanded stretched screenplay to put the pieces together before arriving at a pivotal point in the film where they discuss about a social evil. The audience would need to wait patiently for a tragedy to strike in the lives of the protagonists and how this would turn their lives upside down. Later on, the second half of the movie shows how the affected characters deal with the tragedy.
The movie seemed to be a collage of different genres. The different subplots range from romance to revenge drama throughout the film. Especially the second half shows the different sides of Sidharth. He is cast away, then he is helpless and all of a sudden, he is a charged up man who wants revenge. Siddharth has performed all the variations quite brilliantly in this film.
The last 30 minutes to the movie has something important to convey leading to the climax. Personally, this was some message which was seriously found missing in cinemas. Nimisha Sajayan has a very important role to play here and her dialogues are striking questions towards the offscreen audience as well. It is sometimes important to control our emotions and stand by the affected in times of a tragedy. It is crucial to ensure that people move out of the horrific memories and live a normal and desired life.
VERDICT : A hard hitting cinema that has a long standing message and emotionally thought provoking moments.
