King of Kotha First Week Worldwide Collection Update
Dulquer Salmaan starrer King of Kotha has completed a week in theatres. The film has an estimated collection of INR 35 Crore worldwide in its 7 days run. In its home territory, Kerala, the film has collected around INR 13.5 Crore. The film collected around INR 10.8 Crore in the opening weekend thanks to a thunderous opening day in Kerala Box Office. Day 1 gross at Kerala stood around INR 5.75 Crore. Due to negative reviews, the film didn’t benefit much from the Onam festive season and could add only another INR 8 Crore from 6 days. Even in the Rest of India market, the film didn’t do better business and collected only a meagre INR 7 Crore in 7 days despite huge promotions.
In the overseas market, the film earned around INR 14.5 Crore in 7 days where the major share of collections coming from Gulf markets. The film collected USD 1.15 Million from the Gulf territories in 6 days. The film was projected to open at USD 1 Million in the overseas market but ended at USD 826 K on Day 1. This is the second best opening for Dulquer in the overseas market after Kurup and 7th best opening from Mollywood. The film couldn’t break into USD 1 Million globally due to a below par performance in the Gulf territories on its opening day. With this performance, chances of INR 50 Crore worldwide is a daunting task.
