11 Days Box-office Collection of Ajayante Randam Moshanam & Kishkindha Kaandam
Onam 2024 has rejuvenated the Kerala Box-office, especially after a dry period for Malayalam films, barring Vaazha. Multiple movies are clashing at the Box-office just like the previous Onam season. Though the last year was a one-sided affair, the same cannot be said about 2024. This year, Ajayanate Randam Moshanam & Kishkindha Kaandam are fighting it out at the Box-office. Though, the Tovino Thomas starrer ‘ARM’ holds a clear lead in terms of Box-office collection, Asif Ali starrer ‘KK’ is turning out to be the dark horse, which has started to perform at the Box-office after 2 days. Now, both the films are neck & neck, enjoying strong legs at the Box-office. After 11 days of run, the Asif starrer is just shy of ₹50 Cr Gross globally while the Tovino starrer minted over ₹70 Cr Worldwide Gross.
In the home market of Kerala, ARM took most of the advantage as the festival season biggie and opened in 215 plus screens. Ideally, the film delivered the career best opening for Tovino by grossing over ₹2.80 Cr at KBO. The film played maximum number of shows on first Monday and earned around ₹5 Cr, registering the highest single day for the actor. In contrary, KK opened in just 120 plus screens and earned a meagre ₹0.47 Cr on its opening day. But the WOM proved to be exceptional, increasing the screen count to 220 plus all over Kerala after the first week. Asif starrer collected nearly ₹4 Cr on its Second Sunday.
In the Overseas market, ARM has breached the $3M club, becoming the first solo Tovino film to do so. The film surpassed Thallumala ($2.27M) in just 6 days, which was the previous best of Tovino in the overseas market. KK on the other hand has gone past $2M, becoming the first solo Asif film to do so. The film surpassed his previous best Thalavan ($705K) in just 6 days.
Coming to the Middle East market, ARM had a solid start by collecting over $1.32M in the opening weekend, and reported around 1.23 Lakh admissions. With a very limited release, KK grossed around $480K in the opening weekend and sold roughly 50K tickets. After the first week, Tovino starrer made a whopping $1.48M while Asif starrer improved over the days to gross around $715K. But the second weekend changed the tide, where KK had a massive second weekend in the range of $895K, which was more than the entire first week gross. At the same time, ARM earned around $460K in the second weekend.
